Isabel Oliva is a Cuban-Honduran American artist who currently works and lives in Miami, Florida. Oliva received a BFA in Fiber studies from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2022. She approaches creating work through a layering of different processes such as drawing, painting, and weaving. She is interested in creating artificial realms inspired by the natural world that allow her to explore ideas of personal mythology, and magic realism. Selected group exhibitions include “Megafauna Land Dwellers” at the YoungArts Gallery (2023), and NADA Miami at the Ice Palace Film Studios (2023). Oliva is a recipient of the Miami-Dade County Artist Access Grant (2023) and the South Arts Individual Artist Opportunity Grant (2024) and the Miami-Dade Individual Artist Grant (2024).  She was an artist in residence at the Praxis Fiber Workshop DWL Residency (2024) and participated in the YoungArts Summer Residency in Miami, Florida (2024)
